It was a shot that Steph Curry has knocked down countless times over his career.
On Thursday, though, it was a shot he needed to make … and he didn’t.
The Warriors saw their hopes of a third straight NBA title come to an end in the 114-110 Game 6 loss to the Raptors. The Warriors did everything they could late to force a Game 7, and with time winding down, they got the ball in the hands of Curry with a clear look.
And he missed.
Curry’s missed 3 would have put the Warriors ahead to force Game 7, but Curry, who was 3 of 11 from range in the game, couldn’t convert on the shot when it mattered most.
The game would have ended right there on the spot had it not been for Green’s smart excessive timeout technical. And fans were quick to blame Curry for not hitting the kind of shot he’s been known to make.
Curry finished the game 21 points on 6 of 17 shooting.
