NBA fans pay tribute to Fred McLeod by sharing his best calls

The NBA community is mourning the loss of a legendary commentator on Tuesday. The Cavaliers announced that Fred McLeod, who served as the Cavs’ play-by-play announcer on Fox Sports Ohio since 2006, passed away on Monday at the age of 67.

McLeod was a leading voice of the NBA since the 1980s, and was the play-by-play man in Detroit for decades before moving to Cleveland, where he called countless LeBron James highlights over the bulk of James’ stints with the Cavaliers.

On social media, fans remembered McLeod by sharing some of their favorite calls. His call of the final seconds of the 2016 NBA Finals will be played forever in Cleveland.
