NBA fans hilariously called out LeBron James for lying about Scottie Barnes even though he was telling the truth

LeBron James generally seems like a pretty honest person. But, uh, we’ve definitely caught the dude slipping with a few stories that…let’s just say the details are shaky at best.

The best example of this would be when LeBron said that he just knew Kobe Bryant was going to drop 81 points against the Raptors. He just knew it. He had a feeling. Felt it in his bones before the game even started.

Or remember that time he told us he watched the Godfather 6 times during the 2016 playoffs but couldn’t give a quote from the movie? Or the time he told us he’d been reading the Autobiography of Malcolm X but he also didn’t have a major takeaway from it?

Y’all get the point by now. Bron likes to exaggerate a little bit sometimes. And, look. No problem. We all do it from time to time! Some more than others, but yeah. We’ve all been there.

LeBron does it a lot though. Which is exactly why people didn’t believe him when he said he saw how good Raptors’ rookie Scottie Barnes would be after he watched him play in the 7th grade.

Barnes scored 31 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out 6 assists against James and the Lakers on Friday night. It was a spectacular game for the kid.

When asked about how good Barnes already was, James said he saw it coming. Because of course he did.

“I saw Scottie Barnes for the first time in the 7th grade and told one of my good friends ‘this kid is going to be special.’ I seen the length of his arms and he was playing point guard at his size back then. Obviously, he’s still doing it now. He can play multiple positions. But for him to have that size and that ability…I knew he was going to be special. I always talked to my friends about him.”

There goes Bron and his “good friend” once again, man. This is just incredible stuff.

NBA fans were definitely skeptical and it was hilarious.
