NBA fans destroyed Paul Pierce for suggesting he had a better career than Dwyane Wade

Former NBA champion and current ESPN NBA analyst Paul Pierce is extraordinarily confident about his basketball legacy, which has frequently made him a punching bag on social media.

On Friday night, Pierce drew the ire of NBA Twitter by arguing that he had a better overall career than Miami’s Dwyane Wade, despite having worse career stats and fewer accomplishments. According to Pierce, if he got to play alongside Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James in his prime, he’d be “sitting on five or six championships, easy.”

“I played 10 years with who? With who?!”

Jalen Rose responded by comparing Wade’s list of accolades to Pierce’s honors, and it wasn’t pretty for The Truth.

Pierce defended himself by arguing that he played his best prior to the social media era, which means the current generation of fans may not be familiar with his work.

While a few fans defended Pierce, the majority of NBA twitter ruthlessly roasted him for having such a bold take.
