NBA fans are split on TNT’s new on-floor shot clock graphic

Fans watching Tuesday night’s highly anticipated Lakers-Clippers game are split over TNT’s new graphical innovation for the 2019-20 season. During certain broadcasts this season, TNT has added a white shot clock on the floor just above the foul line in addition to the normal red clock in the lower right corner.

In theory, the clock allows fans to keep their eyes near the center of the court and on the ball, without having to look down to check how many seconds are left in the possession. The clock changes color in the final five seconds, which is a nice touch, but some fans complained on Twitter that it made the broadcast resemble a video game.

There’s only one way to settle this.
