NBA Ejection: Rockets' Smith Jr. And Jazz's Dunn Fight

Altercation led to ejection of Jabari Smith Jr. and Kris Dunn.

In a recent game between the Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz, a heated altercation led to the ejection of Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. and Jazz guard Kris Dunn. The incident occurred just five seconds into the second quarter of the game, which ended with a 147-119 victory for the Rockets.

The scuffle between Smith and Dunn erupted when the two players became entangled while the ball was in play. Despite attempts by other players and officials to intervene and defuse the situation, punches were thrown, resulting in both players being ejected from the game. Although no punches seemed to land, the physical altercation was enough to warrant their removal.

Following the game, Dunn acknowledged his role in the altercation, stating that a verbal exchange and a few shoves quickly escalated into the ejection of both players. Dunn expressed readiness to accept any consequences or punishment handed down by the league for his actions.

On the other hand, Smith did not address the media postgame, leaving his perspective on the incident unknown. The Rockets' victory marked their eighth consecutive win, propelling them back into contention for a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament. Currently, they trail the Golden State Warriors by two losses for the 10th seed.

The altercation between Smith and Dunn serves as a reminder of the intensity and competitiveness that can arise in professional basketball games. While physical confrontations are not uncommon in the sport, players are expected to uphold a certain level of sportsmanship and conduct on the court.
