NBA center Willie Cauley-Stein wants to run routes for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Everybody wants to play with Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

Golden State Warriors center Willie Cauley-Stein is feeling a bit nostalgic today. The former Olathe Northwest player saw the video of Mahomes throwing a football out of Arrowhead Stadium, and it reminded him of the days when he played receiver in high school.

It got Cauley-Stein thinking: What would it be like to play alongside Mahomes? Being from Spearville, Kansas, Cauley-Stein’s football allegiances are with the Chiefs. He even sent his support in a glamorous Joe Montana jersey during last season’s playoff run.

Cauley-Stein took to Twitter and let the fans know what he was thinking about, and Chiefs Kingdom can help him toward his goal. If his tweet hits 10,000 retweets, he’s hoping it will help him and Mahomes hit the field together. Mahomes already retweeted it, so there’s a good chance that Cauley-Stein will get his wish.

It sure would be cool to see Mahomes throwing it up to a receiver who is 7 feet tall and at one time ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash. He’d be really hard for NFL corners to cover and he’d certainly add a new element to an already potent offense. The Chiefs have been looking for that size threat at the receiver position to complement speedier athletes like Tyreek Hill.

In his days at Olathe Northwest, defenders simply couldn’t guard Cauley-Stein because of his size. During his senior season, he had nearly 1,300 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. His highlight reel from high school is pretty impressive too, and you can check it out for yourself down below:

Be sure to retweet Cauley-Stein’s tweet and help him out!
