It looks like NBA 2K26 will be shaking up MyTEAM this year. Yes, the yearly card-collecting grind is back, but this year’s additions promise to add depth, change some of the fundamentals, and even add new modes.
We scoured the latest Courtside Report this afternoon, and these seem to be the biggest takeaways when it comes to what’s new for MyTEAM in NBA 2K26.
The WNBA Has Arrived To NBA 2K MyTEAM

For the first time in the series’ history, WNBA player cards are fully available in NBA 2K26 MyTEAM, and they’re not being used in a separate mode. Kind of like how EA FC began incorporating female footballers into Ultimate Team a few years ago, WNBA players are now fully integrated into MyTEAM’s current infrastructure and can play alongside their male NBA counterparts.
I don’t know about whoever’s reading this, but the thought of having Steph Curry and Caitlin Clark on the same team is a pretty fun one. The Courtside Report also made mention of the pairing of Nikola Jokic and Lisa Leslie, which I didn’t even think of. But, it’s a possibility now! In order to accommodate the integration of WNBA players, new commentary from Kevin Harlan, Greg Anthony, and Stan Van Gundy will point out these player combinations, too.
I’m not the biggest MyTEAM player, but having this kind of depth when it comes to squad construction definitely doesn’t hurt, and might even entice me to give it a shot out of pure curiosity.
The All-New Game Changer Cards
The other headline addition to MyTEAM this year is Game Changer Cards, a new consumable type that lets you manipulate your MyTEAM squad in new ways.
Here are some of the advertised effects of the new Game Changer Cards:
- Activating a REP or MyTEAM Points multiplier for your next game.
- Recovering a win streak in Showdown after a loss.
- Auto-winning a Breakout game without playing it.
- Earning an extra prize or recovering a loss during a Breakout run.
- Instantly completing an Exhibition Mission.
- Auto-evolving an Evolution card.
- Reducing the difficulty or target score differential in Domination.
The 2K community can start earning Game Changer Cards prior to the release of NBA 2K26 by completing the 2K26 MyTEAM Challenge in NBA 2K25, which will also net them an All-Star Series 1 player and five double-MTP Game Changer Cards to carry into 2K26.
Triple Threat Park, 2v2, And Bigger Rewards
Remember Sunset Beach from NBA 2K15? Well, it’s back, but with some new aesthetics. This time around, it’s called Triple Threat Park, and it will be exclusively at night. Additionally, there will be new 3v3 co-op courts, one of which is on a boardwalk. REP leaders will choose the team uniforms and basketball for each game.
For the first time ever, 2v2 half-courts with chain nets will be in NBA 2K26 MyTEAM. The co-op games give each player control of one card in “make, take it” games, where every bucket counts. It might seem like a small innovation to some, but 2v2 is a bigger implementation than one might think.
Rewards have also been expanded across the board, as daily streaks, seasonal ladders, and “Streak Busters” for ending another team’s run all dish out more prizes than before.
All-Star Team-Up, King Of The Court, And Breakout: Gauntlet

Making its debut in NBA 2K26 is All-Star Team-Up, which lets you and four friends (or randoms) run 5v5 co-op using NBA and WNBA cards from your squad. Rewards are both individual and shared via a season ladder, and accumulating five wins with one squad, respectively.
And for the ultra-competitive MyTEAM players, King of the Court returns in NBA 2K26. Exclusively for Gen 9 platforms, King of the Court will offer the biggest rewards there are in the game, such as a $10,000 and 1 million VC grand prize every weekend for the top finisher on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Entry requirements are also simpler this year, meaning there will be a smaller barrier to entry to enter the competition.
Among the new modes is Gauntlet, which is being added to Breakout. Gauntlet is a survival-style ladder where you can only use each card once per run unless you complete objectives to bring them back. EA FC 26 will be adding a similar mode this year, so this seems to be the new norm in Ultimate Team-style games.
