NBA 2K26: How to Use MyPoints, Explained

There are a few different types of currencies you can utilize in various parts of NBA 2K26. While the most well-known and controversial currency is VC, we can’t forget about MyPoints. MyPoints is a type of currency that is vital to improving your MyPlayer in the MyCareer mode in 2K26.

However, MyPoints is something that’s not overly explained during the tutorial phase in MyCareer, so many players might not have any idea that they even have the points to spend. Moreover, once they find out about the points, using them is an entirely different monster.

To help you understand MyPoints better in 2K26, take a look at the guide below.

What To Do With MyPoints In NBA 2K26

When you enter MyCareer in 2K26, you’ll be able to view your MyPoints by going to the “Progression” tab in the main menu. This also allows you to see everything associated with your MyPlayer, such as their OVR, current attributes, and stats. Your MyPoints are viewable inside a circular meter within the Progression tab, which can be confusing if you don’t know much about the currency.

Essentially, you unlock MyPoints by performing well in matches, completing objectives in MyCareer, and simply progressing your MyPlayer. The more MyPoints you earn, the more you’ll fill up the meter in the Progression tab. You want to fill up the meter as much as possible, as this unlocks the next maximum threshold for your MyPlayer’s OVR.

To make it simple, earning MyPoints allows your MyPlayer to get better and better and unlock more of the stats and attributes that you set for them at the beginning of your MyCareer playthrough. Every time you earn enough MyPoints, your player will improve by increasing their OVR rating. You can then use the MyPoints you’ve earned to unlock additional stats and attributes for your MyPlayer by visiting the Progression tab.

However, as you continue to bump up your MyPlayer’s OVR, you’ll need more MyPoints to progress to the next threshold. So, for example, you only need a small amount of MyPoints to increase your OVR when your player is in the 70s, but you need double and even triple the amount of points once you get into the 80s and 90s.

How To Earn MyPoints In NBA 2K26

The easiest way to earn MyPoints in 2K26 is to simply play MyCareer. Earning good teammate grades by performing well in games and completing any goals along the way will easily earn you enough MyPoints to progress efficiently and smoothly through your playthrough.

You can juice your MyPoints by unlocking the MyPoints Accelerator, though. The Accelerator is unlocked through the “Out of Bounds” storyline in MyCareer, and when it’s active, you receive a 10% boost to the amount of MyPoints you earn for the remainder of your MyCareer playthrough.

You’re also able to pair the Accelerator with playing at a higher difficulty level in 2K26 as well. A higher difficulty level, such as Hall of Fame, rewards you with extra MyPoints for playing well, as you’re up against stiffer competition.

When you’re playing matches in MyCareer, you want to ensure you’re being as efficient as possible. Making the fewest amount of mistakes, filling up the stat sheet, and winning games are the best ways to earn the maximum amount of MyPoints if you’re playing at a high difficulty and using the Accelerator.

And that’s everything we have on how to use your MyPoints in 2K26. Earning MyPoints can be one of the longer grinds you’ll face in 2K26, but it’s all worth it when you see that coveted “99 OVR” next to your MyPlayer’s name. From there, nothing can stop you as you dominate MyCareer.
