NBA 2K20 player ratings come out for some MSU alums

NBA 2K is the biggest franchise in video game hoops and has recently been rolling out its player ratings for the 2K20 version.

Of the number of MSU alums in the NBA, only Gary Harris and Jaren Jackson Jr. have received ratings thus far. How it works with 2k player ratings is that some players will get their ratings early and tweet them out, some basketball blogs will get fed ratings and do posts for them, etc. The goal is to drum up interest and conversation leading up to the game’s release.

Since we only have two ratings to go with, let’s give some thoughts about them.

Gary Harris – 79

Of course Gary Harris is underrated in 2K. Here are some players near Harris in the ratings. Derrick Rose (80), Serge Ibaka (81), Bam Adebayo, Ja Morant, Lonzo Ball and Terrance Ross are all 79s and RJ Barrett is a 78. The disrespect is real for Gary.

Jaron Jackson Jr. – 82

This actually feels about right for JJJ. Coming off a productive–albeit in limited games–rookie season, the expectations are growing for Jackson. Jaren is currently the 2nd highest rated 2nd year player in 2K behind only Trae Young. It’s a safe bet to say that Jackson will drop to 3rd once we find out Luka Doncic’s rating.
