‘NBA 2K’ exec accidentally disses DeMarcus Cousins on livestream

Ronnie Singh, better known as Ronnie 2K on Twitter and Instagram, is a digital marketing director at 2K Sports, but that doesn’t describe his role completely.

He’s the public face of NBA 2K, who gets to hear it from players if they don’t like their ratings and who helps promote the game in general in so many different ways.

With the NBA hosting a 2K tournament with real players going head to head in the game, Singh is involved. And on Tuesday, someone post a video of him apparently unaware he was livestreaming while speaking to a colleague on the phone. He said DeMarcus Cousins — one of the players in the tournament — didn’t receive a package that was sent and that Boogie was “such a (expletive)” that he could see Cousins bowing out.

Cousins tweeted this after the broadcast:

Singh apologized:

How did Singh end up live-streaming accidentally? It’s also fair to wonder if it was an April Fools joke meant to give us something to laugh about during a stressful time. Or it could even be a way to promote the tournament coming up later this week.

Hopefully, either way, this will all blow over by Friday after Singh’s apology.
