Naya Rivera fans are pleading with American law enforcement to search an area nearby Lake Piru for the star after helicopter footage appeared to show a shadowy figure in the gloom.
The Glee star, 33, disappeared on July 8 during a trip to the lake with her young son, Josey.
She has been missing presumed dead since then, after Josey was found in the boat alone, telling police that his mum had gone into the water and not returned.
Naya's family and the police have been searching for days in hope of finding her body and fans are now urging for them to search near a rocky area by the shore after viewing birds eye footage filmed over the weekend.
A number of heartbroken fans of the star are convinced that she is alive after viewing clips filmed in the air by a police helicopter, and they believe they have pinpointed her whereabouts after seeing what they believe to be a figure leaning on a rock.
Trying to get the local authority's attention, hoards of Naya's supporters have taken to Twitter to ask the area to be searched and have tagged Ventura Sheriff's office.
One tweeted: "Sweet Naya still hasn’t been found, but I can feel it. Today is the day, they find her ALIVE. check the shore, in the video footage, it's clear that there is a body laying behind the rock. Find our Naya, and bring her home."
A second added: "I'm still trying to make sense why @VENTURASHERIFF officials ain't looking around the rock areas and near land. It's possible Naya drowned, yes but it's also a strong possibility Naya took herself to safety. Look where people are saying. #NayaRivera."
Pleading with the police for an answers, a third added: " @VENTURASHERIFF can you PLEASE tell us if you checked exactly where we showed you? It could clearly be Naya, sitting on the ground against a rock.We know that you checked the shore again today, but we need to know if you SPECIFICALLY looked CLOSELY at this rock.."
On Sunday, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said it was stepping up the search and recovery operation.
"In today's search for Naya Rivera, cabins and outbuildings in the surrounding area will be checked once again, as well as the shoreline," said a rep.
"This has been part of the ongoing search effort since her disappearance on Wednesday afternoon. Boat crews continue to scan the lake."
Sgt Shannon King confirmed to PEOPLE afterwards that this search did not come up with anything new and he said "nothing has changed".
Police have said that they still have no reason to believe that Naya "left the water".
Josey has been reunited with his father, Ryan Dorsey, who has been seen at the water's edge as the search continued.
Naya's ex-husband was seen to be visibly upset as he watched the efforts being made to find her, while her father George was spotted plunging into the lake fully clothed in a desperate bid to bring his little girl home.
