Naya Rivera addresses feud with Glee co-star Lea Michele: 'She didn't say a word to me for all of season six'

Naya Rivera has addressed her ongoing feud with Glee co-star Lea Michele and claimed Michele did not speak to her once during filming for the entire season six of the series.

In her book Sorry, Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes & Growing Up, the 29-year-old actress said the pair were competitive towards each other and Michele did not like sharing the limelight with her.

Rivera said her 30-year-old co-star blamed her for “anything and everything” which went wrong and was sensitive towards criticism on set.

“One of the Glee writers once said that Lea and I were like two sides of the same battery and that about sums us up. We are both strong willed and competitive - not just with each other but with everyone - and that’s not a good mixture,” Rivera wrote.

“I think Rachel - erm, I mean Lea - didn’t like sharing the spotlight,” she added.

Rivera also said Michele struggled to separate work from their friendship and was not good at dealing with criticism.

“I’m not offended when people offer feedback or criticism, and if things get heated on set, I try to keep perspective,” Rivera wrote. “We’re all stressed, yes, but we’re all working toward the same goal, so laugh it off and keep it movin’. Lea was a lot more sensitive, though, and it seemed like she blamed me for anything and everything that went wrong.”

“If I’d complained about anyone or anything, she’d assumed I was b*tching about her. Soon, she started to ignore me, and eventually it got to the point where she didn’t say a word to me for all of season six.”

But while Rivera said she and Michele were “not the best of friends”, she argued some of the "rumours of our 'feud'" had been exaggerated and overblown.

A representative for Michele did not immediately respond to request for comment.
