Navy searching for missing crew member after US helicopter has ‘emergency water landing’

  • An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the USS George H.W. Bush conducted an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea on July 1 at 3:30 a.m. ET, according to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command.
  • Three of the helicopter's four crew members were recovered and are in stable condition aboard the USS George H.W. Bush.
  • U.S. Navy assets are currently searching for the one remaining missing aircrew member.
  • The cause of the incident is under investigation , with no indication that it was the result of hostile action.
  • The USS George H.W. Bush has been deployed in the Middle East since late April, maintaining a significant U.S. military presence in the region.
