Navy Pier to get two Lettuce Entertain You restaurants

Nov. 24--Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises is bringing two of its restaurants to a new food area at Chicago's Navy Pier in December.

Big Bowl Chinese Express and Frankie's Pizza by the Slice will set up shop in the former South Arcade of the pier, Lettuce Entertain You and Navy Pier said Monday.

The addition of the two restaurants comes as Navy Pier is working on a major redesign. Navy Pier's new food space will include a communal dining area with other items such as barbecue, burgers and baked goods.

Big Bowl at Navy Pier will offer some of the more popular dishes found at that restaurant, which opened in Chicago in 1996. Frankie's Pizza by the Slice is an extension of the Frankie's 5th Floor Pizzeria at 900 N. Michigan Ave. It will offer pizza by the slice, individual pan pizzas, hot sandwiches and frozen lemonade.

"I am a lifelong Chicagoan and believe that this renovation of Navy Pier is important to our city's growth. My partners and I are excited to be a part of it," Lettuce Entertain You Founder and Chairman Richard Melman said in a statement.

The two Lettuce Entertain You restaurants are set to open in early December, the company said. Lettuce Entertain You operates a number of bars and restaurants across the region, from M Burger and Wow Bao to RPM Italian and Shaw's Crab House.
