Tango and United Front should register an early juvenile double for Aidan and Donnacha O’Brien in Navan this afternoon.
With arch-rival Colin Keane on duty for Willie Mullins in Haydock, Donnacha has a chance to eat into Keane’s lead in the title race, with obvious chances on all of his five rides and the two-year-olds should set the ball rolling.
Tango was collared close home and beaten a head by Albigna at the Curragh but with normal improvement, the daughter of No Nay Never will take plenty of beating in the opening Irish Stallion Farms Fillies Maiden.
Similarly, lots of improvement is expected from United Front in the colts’ maiden following his eye-catching debut fourth in a conditions event in Newbury.
The Ballydoyle team also runs one-time 1,000 Guineas favourite Goddess in the three-runner conditions event which closes the card.
This Camelot filly was hugely impressive when landing a Leopardstown maiden by ten lengths but then flopped when upped to Group 3 company on the same track.
If the market speaks in her favour, she might make a successful return.
In the handicap action, Jessica Harrington’s Onlyhuman is napped to follow-up in the Racing Again At Navan July 13th Handicap while the progressive Shakespear’sgalley will appreciate the step-up to two miles in the www.navanracecourse.ie Handicap.
