
A bride clad in an all-white kimono makes her way toward her bridegroom by boat at Suigo Itako Ayame-en park in Itako, Ibaraki Prefecture, on Saturday. She is participating in one of the events during the ongoing Ayame Matsuri (Iris festival), reenacting a local custom in a region where canals were an important means of transportation. Twenty-nine couples are scheduled to take part in the event at the festival, which runs through June 24.
