A woman has revealed how a cat broke into her parent's kitchen and devoured their Christmas chicken.
Kirstie McDermott, from Dublin, Ireland, said the stealthy feline entered the home late at night and got stuck into the dinner as the family slept upstairs.
Pictures shared to social media show how the cheeky feline gnawed off the skin of the cooked chicken and ate the meat underneath.
Kirstie wrote on Twitter : "So next door's cat broke through my parents' catflap during the night AND DID THIS"
The intruder also apparently tried to eat a defrosting beef joint that was sitting on the kitchen counter - but was thwarted by the thick plastic wrapping.
According to Kirstie, the rogue tabby - who lives nearby - regularly raids her parent's kitchen through the flap that belongs to their two pet cats.
The pair obviously did little to stand in its way while the thieving cat scoffed the Christmas dinner .
"My parents have two human-food averse cats who clearly did f*** all while this was going on LOL".
Kirstie included a picture of the prime suspect who was seen lurking on the roof of a home, as it scanned the scene for its next unsuspecting victim.
The cat may have been spurred into action as its family who were currently away on holiday.
Thankfully, the family were able to see the funny side of the incident and were well-prepared with beef and ham to accompany their festive dinner.
She also left a parting shot for cat haters who have expressed dislike for the four-legged animal.
She wrote: "As a cat-loving family we found it highly funny and it's no big deal - we'll cut the nibbled bit off and it will be fine."
