Naughty Boy's family say 'if only you knew' after he threatens to quit ITV's I'm A Celeb

Naughty Boy has been defended by his family after he became the first campmate to threaten to quit I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The 36-year-old music producer has been upset that his time on the ITV show has seen him in the 'worst' conditions of the Clink.

On top of that, he has had to do the washing up of the main camp and has been chosen to do Bushtucker Trials by the viewers, which has left him questioning whether he wants to continue.

On Tuesday night, Naughty Boy, whose real name is Shahid Khan, threatened to walk out of Gwrych Castle and that led to a deluge of negative comments on social media as viewers threw the 'be kind' mantra out of the window.

This has led to his family hitting out, saying that people have no idea what the music producer has to contend with in the 'real world'.

They were responded to Twitter user DanRavenscroft9, who wrote in defence of Naughty Boy: "I've got to be honest, I'm not comfortable with the reaction to Naughty Boy on here.

"To me, it appears like he has some deep rooted issues with himself and may not be mentally prepared to deal with the show and the failure #ImACeleb."

He then added another post: "In a world where so many say to 'be kind' and so much focus on mental health and changing the stigma around men and depression/anxiety, the reaction and comments towards Naughty Boy are disappointing to say the least #ImACeleb."

Naughty Boy's social media accounts are being run by his family while he is on the ITV show, and they thanked Dan for his support before launching a passionate defence of their own.

Writing on the social media site, they wrote: "This! If only everyone knew what he’s battling on the outside world," they wrote.

"His mum (my nan) is battling dementia and he has been taking care of her for the last 5 years.

"This is the first time he has left her to do something life-changing! He is just overwhelmed and he will be fine."
