NatWest customers were hit with another technical glitch on Tuesday that left them unable to withdraw money at ATMs or use chip and pin facilities at tills.
NatWest customers complained on Twitter that they were unable to withdraw cash, with many saying they had tried multiple cash points before realising that the problem was with their card.

The bank responded swiftly to complaints on Twitter to reassure customers that it was investigating the issue. By mid-afternoon, NatWest tweeted that the problem was fixed.

The problems are the latest in a string of IT glitches to hit internet banking customers that will raise serious questions over the security of the system. On August 31, NatWest customers were locked out of their online banking accounts.

NatWest is not the only bank to suffer from IT glitches. In August, HSBC blamed their systems for payment delays for thousands of HSBC business customers, which left many employers angry that they were unable to pay staff on time.
