Natwest and RBS customers unable to pay bills following technical glitch

Natwest and RBS credit card customers have been hit with a technical glitch today, which has left several people unable to pay credit card bills or access account information.

Royal Bank of Scotland customers first reported the problems they were facing with mobile banking, which left some able to access their account balances, in the early hours of Monday August 19.

The bank's online banking services then became temporarily unavailable on Tuesday August 20.

Natwest has issued a statement on its website (Natwest)

Addressing the glitch on its website, RBS wrote: "Some customers are unable to view credit card information on online and mobile banking.

"We are also experiencing some problems with our telephony service for credit cards, which is limiting our ability to assist customers over the phone. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We are working to resolve these problems as quickly as possible."

The bank is yet to post any updates about the outage on its social media profiles.

While the glitch has prevented some customers from paying off credit card charges, it does not appear to have affected a large amount of its 14 million customers.
