Natural dog food business to support breeders with specialist fertility clinic launch

A fertility clinic for dog breeders is to open in Grimsby as a natural food business expands from feed to seed.

Raw’s Best K9 Fertility Clinic comes seven years after the initial offering was launched by Karin Carling.

It will be led by Gianni Ardito, who has spent 20 years breeding and working with dogs, qualifying in canine fertility.

Services will cover all elements from stud dog sample quality to ovulating cycles of the bitch, artificial insemination ultrasound, whelping support and microchipping of puppies.

Karin said: “Artificial insemination is safer for the bitch rather than having to go through the physical mating.

“It can be very stressful for the bitch and dog, and can also be quite aggressive, and animals as well as humans can get injured. Gianni is experienced in this field and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.”

A laboratory has been created at the Nunsthorpe Business Units location on Winchester Avenue where the food business expanded to.

Gianni said: “There are a lot of breeders in this area and people are having to travel far away for these services.

“This is a vital service for people who are in the breeding industry. We have already had a lot of people show interest and we are not even officially open yet.”

Monday will see the launch of Raw’s Best K9 Fertility Clinic as first commercial lockdown steps are taken.
