Nationwide recall of Kinder Surprise eggs due to salmonella contamination

Four Kinder egg products are being recalled by the Food Standards authority due to potential salmonella contamination.  

The four products have been on sale at various supermarkets and stores including Coles, Woolworths, Target, Kmart, Big W, independent food retailers as well as online. 

The products recalled are: 

  • The Kinder Easter Basket (120g)
  • Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut (100g)
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi (100g)
  • Kinder Surprise Maxi Natoons (100g)

According to Food Standards Australia New Zealand, the Kinder Surprise 20g single and three-pack eggs in pink, white and blue are not affected. 

The manufacturer, Ferrero Australia, says other Ferrero products are not affected by the contamination. 

Consumers should not eat the product  it is recommended that they are returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. 

Anyone concerned about their health following consumption is advised to seek medical attention.
