Nationwide payment delays affecting Northern Ireland customers

Nationwide are dealing with payment delays this morning, they say.

Customers are experiencing problems with payments that were due into the bank accounts this morning, including wages, a source told Belfast Live.

The bank issued an update saying that payments are 'in a queue.'

It read: "Payments into your account are delayed at the moment. If you are waiting for an inbound payment you don’t need to do anything, it’s in a queue and will arrive ASAP.

"Direct Debits and standing orders are working normally. Sorry for any problems this may cause. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as we can."

Nationwide assured customers that other services have not been affected by this.

They said customers can still do the following:

  • send money from your account(s) as usual
  • move money between Nationwide accounts
  • use your cards online and in shops
  • log-in to our Internet Bank and Banking app
  • withdraw money at cash machines.

There are no further details or time frame for this ongoing glitch.
