Ryan Zimmerman has never played baseball for a team other than the Washington Nationals. Since 2005, Zimmerman has donned a Nationals uniform and has since suited up for nearly 1,800 games for Washington.
However, Zimmerman’s time with the Nationals may be coming to an end soon. On Sunday, during the Nationals’ last game of the 2021 season and before Zimmerman’s first at bat, the Washington faithful gave the 37-year-old a standing ovation to remember in possibly one of his last at bats for the team.
The moment was so emotional that Zimmerman had to wipe away tears before stepping into the batter’s box for the at bat.

Yeah, definitely not a dry eye in the house all around.
Zimmerman may have struck out during that at bat, but he came back around in the third inning and helped drive in a run with the bases loaded off a walk, which knocked Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale out of the game.
If this is truly Zimmerman’s last game with the Nationals, what a career!
