National water firm relocates to new Derby base

A national water and waste water solutions provider has relocated its regional base to newly refurbished offices in Derby.

MWH Treatment, which provides design and construction services to water and waste water markets, has moved its Midlands regional office from Raynesway to Cardinal Square.

The firm has acquired a 2,700 sq ft office within the Nottingham Road complex, which is owned by Nurton Developments.

MWH Treatment works with companies such as Severn Trent Water, Southern Water, Scottish Water, United Utilities, Thames Water and Anglian Water and employs more than 800 employees across the UK.

It offers a range of end-to-end services for all water and waste water solutions, from £100 million major projects through to minor capital maintenance.

Paul Hodgson, programme manager at MWH Treatment, said: “We were very impressed with the quality of the office accommodation and facilities available at Cardinal Square, along with its excellent location close to the city centre and Derby’s principal road links.

“Our team have enjoyed joining the rest of the business community working at Cardinal Square.”

David Dyas, asset manager for Cardinal Square, said: “MWH Treatment required office space for 25 desks within a lead time of just four weeks.

“We were comfortably able to meet this deadline, agreeing legals and providing the required connectivity within this tight time constraint.”

Cardinal Square is set around a central quadrant and comprises of four inter-connecting blocks, each arranged on four and five floors, which are available on a floor-by-floor or single office basis.

The 113,000 sq ft building is currently undergoing a major investment programme to create high quality office space, services and facilities.

The ground floor of the building’s West Point has recently been the subject of a refurbishment programme to create the Cardinal Business Centre, which comprises 4,500 sq ft of serviced office accommodation.

Following the successful letting of the first phase, a further 4,500 sq ft of serviced office accommodation has now been created.

Today, Cardinal Square is home to a number of high-profile clients including NHS Property Services, Freeths Solicitors, George’s Tradition and IT specialists Node4.

Mr Dyas said: “Cardinal Square has always been a very popular office development, but since our refurbishment programme was launched, it is attracting more and more local, regional and national operations who are keen to take advantage of the high specification office space and facilities that are on offer here.”
