Wednesday marks the third annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence, kicking off a days-long campaign to honor all victims and survivors of gun violence across the US.
Families who lost loved ones in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Newtown, Connecticut, three years ago, traveled to Washington DC for a Wednesday night vigil. Hundreds more vigils will take place through 14 December in cities and towns across the country. Are you attending a vigil in your community? We want to hear from you. Share with us your photos and stories of the experience.
The annual movement comes soon after the most recent US mass shooting, in San Bernardino, California, which left 14 people dead and 21 more injured. While the San Bernardino attack is the deadliest US mass shooting since a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook on 14 December 2012, it is hardly an outlier: since 1 January of this year, there have been more than 350 mass shootings in the US.
Show us how you are honoring the victims and survivors of those shootings, during the coming days’ vigils. The Guardian will publish a selection of contributed photos from vigils around the country on 14 December, the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting.
