National 'two-man' delivery company Rhenus Home Delivery opening new warehouse on Magna Park

A national “two-man” delivery company is opening a new central warehouse on Magna Park, in south Leicestershire, to support its growth plans.

Rhenus Home Delivery UK is opening the central distribution centre in a 258,000 sq ft property on the Lutterworth site, which is close to the M1, A5 and M6.

Parent company the Rhenus Group already operates four dedicated warehouses at Magna Park, and the new site is undergoing an extensive refurbishment.

It will be ready this spring and support the delivery company's expansion, including next day and just in time delivery.

Rhenus Home Delivery UK was launched following the acquisition of an established national two man delivery service by Rhenus Group in January 2017.

The parent group is a big European logistics specialist with annual turnover of 5.4 billion euros and 33,500 employees working out of 820 sites.

Vinny Riley, managing director of Rhenus Home Delivery UK, said: “This is a fantastic step forward for Rhenus Home Delivery and will allow us to significantly grow our client base and service offering.

“In fact, it will change the way the business operates, as it transitions to a hub and spoke model, allowing us to expand our services.”

Formerly the home of Costco and Wayfair, Rhenus Home Delivery’s new location, named Hurricane 258 will prove a significant investment for the business.

Since the group entered the UK home delivery market the business has gone from strength to strength thanks to the “efficiency of its operational procedures and consistent levels of service”.

A spokesman said: “The logistics specialist’s services range from standard room of choice deliveries to basic installations, removal of packaging and disposal of old beds, mattresses, and furniture.

“Rhenus also specialises in part order and multiple supplier deliveries (order consolidation) and will hold all products until the complete order is ready for dispatch.”
