National Trust to open more parks and gardens from June 3 - the full list

The National Trust will begin to reopen some of its parks and gardens next week, including several of Greater Manchester's most popular spots.

The trust has been gradually reopening many of its countryside and coastal locations across England over the last few weeks but has left houses, parks and gardens closed until now.

The phased reopening will see six sites across the north of England reopen on June 3.

This includes Quarry Bank in Cheshire, Dunham Massey in Greater Manchester, and Lyme Park in Cheshire.

The houses at all sites will remain closed in line with government guidance, and all sites in Wales are still shut.

Visitors will need to pre-book before they visit sites in June, a system that has been in place at several popular National Trust car parks since the UK's lockdown restrictions were eased.

Rules and restrictions are in place at many locations, with facilities such as cafes remaining closed for the time being.

It's advised to check each location's website and social media channels before travelling.

How to book

Tatton Park mansion (Macclesfield Express)

All visitors, including members, will need to pre-book to visit National Trust parklands and gardens.

Those without bookings will be turned away by staff.

Ticket-holders will be given a 30 minute arrival time on your chosen day, which you must adhere to.

The length of time visitors will be allowed to stay at each site will vary, but will be made clear at the time of booking.

Bookings will open each Friday for visits the following week.

The National Trust is asking that people only book to visit once a week to allow everyone a chance to see these beautiful destinations.

Members will need to bring their membership cards with them when they visit, while non-members will need to pay in advance online.
