The National Trust is reviewing all its costs in Wales but said it was "too early to speculate" on the level of job losses.
The charity - which owns places like Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd, and Powis Castle - has been badly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic - which forced it to close its sites.
It has scaled back projects that were scheduled to take place in the financial year of 20/21 in order to save money but is still facing a cash shortfall.
They told Business Live: "We are currently undergoing a full review of all our costs which involves analysing projects and operating expenditure which includes pay.
"It is too early to speculate about the level of redundancies.
"We are in the process of working our way through this and will be keeping our staff and stakeholders informed as we work."
