Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is likely to top a massive £7.4million after no-one won the top prize in Wednesday’s draw.
The next biggest prize of £1 million – for five numbers and the bonus ball – was won by one lucky player, just in time to bring cheer to their New Year celebrations.
The winning Lotto numbers were 17, 21, 11, 49, 37 and 24, and the bonus number was 45 with 73 ticket-holders bagging £1,750 after matching five of the six numbers.
Set of balls five and draw machine Lancelot were used. No-one matched all five numbers to win the Lotto HotPicks, although five people picked four out of five to win £13,000.
The winning Thunderball numbers were 08, 04, 15, 06 and 01, and the Thunderball number was 02.
No-one matched all the numbers plus the Thunderball to win the £500,000 top prize, and no ticket-holders matched five numbers to win £5,000.
