National Lottery confirms €17m EuroMillions jackpot is ready for collection

The National Lottery has confirmed that the €17 million Euromillions jackpot has been transferred into its HQ bank account.

The mammoth windfall is now ready for the winners in Castlebar, Co Mayo to collect, but it is likely to be next week at the earliest before that happens.

The spokesman said: “A person rang to verify the ticket last week and we asked them to go and get [legal] advice and we haven’t heard anything back since.

“They’re aware that the money came in [on Wednesday].

“Obviously it’s a massive claim to make and they haven’t indicated that they’re going to be in this week.

“I’d say it’ll be next week at the earliest.

“The first thing we said to them was [the legal advice] and the fact we haven’t heard from them since I would say that they’re getting all the advice that they can before they come in.”

The lucky numbers were purchased by a local syndicate on Tuesday, February, 11 at Mulroy’s Londis.
