National Lottery chiefs issue appeal to players as three millionaire winners yet to come forward

The National Lottery are appealing to players in Athlone, Castlebar and Myrtleville to check their tickets carefully as the three latest Lotto millionaires are yet to make contact.

A Westmeath player won the Lotto jackpot of €6,489,165 on Saturday, May 22 after purchasing their Quick Pick ticket on Thursday, May 20 at the Applegreen service station located just off the M6/N6 motorway in the Arcadia Retail Park in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

The Midlands win marked the third Lotto jackpot to be won so far this year.

On the same night, the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1,000,000 was won by a player in Mayo.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Friday, May 21 at Cunningham’s in the village of Belcarra located just outside Castlebar.

Just a week later, a Lotto player in Cork became the fourth Lotto jackpot winner of the year so far.

On Saturday, May 29, a Rebel county player scooped the €2,469,871 jackpot. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at O’Connell’s Foodstore in the seaside town of Myrtleville, Co. Cork.

Lotto players in each of these areas are now being urged to check their tickets carefully as all three winners are yet to come forward.

The winning ticket holders are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in safe places.

The winners should contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Last week truly was a big week for Lotto players all over the country.

"We saw three players become millionaires overnight with two Lotto jackpots won in the space of a week as well as a Lotto Plus 1 top prize.

"The three big winners are yet to come forward so we would encourage all Lotto players in Cork, Mayo and Westmeath to check their tickets carefully. Three Lotto players have tickets worth €1 million, €2.4 million and €6.4 million.

The spokesperson continued: "If you do have one of these tickets, the important thing to do is stay calm and sign the back of your ticket.

"You should contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for you to claim your prize.”
