National Lottery bosses announce €500,000 Euromillions Plus ticket was sold in Thurles, Co Tipperary

National Lottery bosses have revealed that a €500,000 winning EuroMillions Plus ticket was sold in Co Tipperary.

The Plus jackpot was won in Tuesday night's draw and it has now been announced that the golden ticket was sold in Ely’s Centra Store in Thurles.

Speaking on selling the lucky Quick Pick ticket, Ronan Ely, one of the owners of the family business said: “It’s tremendous news to get and there’s a massive buzz about Thurles town since early morning.

"We have no idea who the winner could be as it’s a very busy store, so it really could be anyone.

"We will be encouraging all of our customers today to check their tickets as it could be them but we hope it brings a lot of happiness to the winner, whoever he or she may be.”

The Ely's group has previously seen a big Lotto prize winner, with a customer bagging a €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 top prize in 2017.

The winning EuroMillions Plus numbers for last night’s draw were: 15, 16, 17, 37, 45.

Meanwhile there was no winner of the staggering €51 million top prize in the main EuroMillions draw, which will now roll over to an eye-watering €65 million on Friday.
