ORLANDO, Fla. _ The National Hurricane Center is watching two areas of the Atlantic Ocean, including one that could form into a tropical depression "at any time."
But there's no indication either one will form into a hurricane, much less one that will strike Florida, according to the hurricane center.
One small area of low pressure is located between the Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles, southeast of the Caribbean Sea. The area is likely to form into a cyclone within the next couple of days, moving to the west or northwest, according to the hurricane center.
However, the system is expected to deteriorate before it approaches the Lesser Antilles, an arc of small islands in the Caribbean southeast of Puerto Rico.
The hurricane center also is watching an area of showers and thunderstorms a few hundred miles southwest of Bermuda. This system appears to be less organized, the center said, and the chances for a tropical depression to form are diminishing. It's projected to move west and north, between Bermuda and the east coast of the United States.
