Limerick went two points clear at the top of the Division 1 A table after beating Westmeath at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
The Treaty County made it four from four while Waterford relinquished their perfect start after coming up just short against Tipperary in Thurles.
It means that Limerick-Waterford's rescheduled match will decide who tops the group and books their semi-final spot.
In Division 1A Clare are through to the semi-finals after having too much for Dublin, while Wexford racked up a big tally against Carlow who remain at the foot of the table.
Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford finished second and as with Kilkenny they must wait to discover their opponents in the quarter-finals as Limerick-Waterford and Galway-Tipperary are scheduled to play their postponed Group A games next weekend.
