National Geographic’s Travel Photo Contest is open for entries and has already attracted incredible snaps from across the globe.
The international competition runs from 18 March to 3 May, with budding photographers able to enter their work in one of three categories: nature, cities and people.
Now entering its third week, the competition has attracted some stand-out entries, including a daredevil captured slacklining in Yosemite National Park in California; and an action-packed, mud-filled cow race through the rice paddies during the traditional pacu jawi on Sumatra, Indonesia.
“We are looking for images that show us the world: its people, places, and cultures,” it says on the National Geographic website.
“Photos that tell the story of a place and travel moments that reveal what inspires you.”
The overall winner will receive $7,500 (£5,700), plus their photo will be featured on the @natgeotravel Instagram account.
First place winners in each category will receive $2,500 (£1,900); second place winners get $1,500 (£1,140); and third place winners are given $750 (£570).
