National editors back FoI campaign

National newspaper editors are getting behind the campaign to stop the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act being watered down. With less than a month to go before the official consultation period ends, nearly 1,000 journalists have signed the Press Gazette petition opposing the government's move to restrict the Act's use by journalists. Among those editors speaking up, and signing up, are Alan Rusbridger (Guardian), John Witherow (Sunday Times), Will Lewis (Daily Telegraph), Patience Wheatcroft (Sunday Telegraph), Peter Wright (Mail on Sunday) and Jonathan Grun (Press Association).
