National anthem singing to mark centennial of Thai flag

Thais across the country are asked to celebrate the centennial of the Thai national flag on Sept 28, with nationwide singing of the national anthem at 8am.

Thais across the country are being urged to sing the national anthem at 8am on Thursday, to mark the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Thai national flag on Sept 28.

PM’s Office Minister Omsin Cheevapruek said on Wednesday that activities to celebrate the auspicious event were scheduled to start at 7.45am on Thursday.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha would carry the national flag through a guard of honour to the flagpole in front of the Santi Maitree Building at Government House.

At 8am, Gen Prayut would join officials in singing the national anthem. Staff at all government agencies and state enterprises would sing the anthem at the same time. The private sector would also participate.

Afterwards, the prime minister would inspect an exhibition depicting the history of the Thai flag at the Santi Maitree Building.

Mr Omsin urged Thais in all provinces to join in and also sing the national anthem at 8am on Thursday.
