Nation’s top running back recruit to visit Ohio State this weekend

This weekend is setting up to be a huge one for Ohio State when it comes to some of its top targets lining up visits. The list goes on and on, but by far the biggest name set to visit Columbus is the class of 2020’s No. 1 rated running back, Zach Evans.

Evans goes 5-11, 200 lbs. and is out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas. Of course any program in the country would love to have him, but he’s narrowed his list between five schools including Ohio State. The other four schools include two from Texas (the Longhorns and Aggies), Alabama and Georgia.

What is of note for the visit to OSU is that it is an unofficial visit. That means Evans is interested enough to pay his own way to hear the sales pitch in what should prove to be a very pivotal weekend for Ryan Day and staff.

With so many of the top recruits at the tailback position looking at Ohio State right now, you get the feeling that whenever one of them commits, it could act as a domino to push the others to another school.

If that happens, and who that is remains to be seen, but there’s clearly interest by both parties here. We’ll have more on this as news becomes available.
