Nathaniel Clyne reveals what Crystal Palace put right from Brighton draw to beat Fulham

Nathaniel Clyne made his Premier League comeback as a starter in Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over Fulham, and revealed what they put right from the previous week's draw against Brighton.

Clyne began training with Palace in September in the hopes of earning a contract at Selhurst Park following the expiration of his deal at Liverpool in the summer.

And the right-back was thrust into the starting line up at Craven Cottage after Joel Ward was ruled out of the game with a groin strain.

Clyne said he was delighted to be back playing at Palace, and was happy that the team did not let off the pressure on Fulham - despite the late Tom Cairney strike from distance.

"It's been a long time since I've been playing for Palace and I'm just happy to be back on the field," Clyne told Premier League Productions.

"I'm feeling fit, getting more match fitness in me. I was delighted with my performance and I can only get stronger by playing more games and more games. I'm looking forward to it.

"Last week we started off the game [vs Brighton] well, we got the goal and then we took the foot off the gas a bit and let them back in. It was difficult.

"But [against Fulham] we showed our qualities, we got the two goals and managed to contain them. I know they got the goal at the end but we were happy with the three points. Onto the next one."

Clyne was happy with the way the team set up tactically, and says that the squad are hoping Wilfried Zaha can continue his rich vein of form after scoring his fifth goal of the season.

"We set up really well defensively," Clyne added. "Everyone knows their roles and jobs and we've got attacking players that are quality going forward.

"We scored two, probably could have scored more and looked dangerous going forward. [Zaha] has got the quality to go one way and then the other, trick the defender.

"As you can see, he's scoring goals at the minute. He's scored a lot of goals this season - hopefully he can score more and we can get more wins."
