Nathan Young-Coombes set for Rangers exit as highly-rated youngster closes in on Brentford switch

Rangers prospect Nathan Young-Coombes is set to leave Ibrox in favour of a move to high-flying Brentford.

The striker turned 18 last month and is on the verge of joining the Bees' B team on a permanent deal.

He's expected to join the ambitious Championship club as he looks to forge his growing reputation south of the border.

Young-Coombes was linked with a move to London club West Ham during the summer but that switch never materialised.

He was one of the top performers in the Rangers youth team that lifted the Alkass Cup in 2019.

He then scored the winner in the Scottish Youth Cup Final against Celtic and also impressed in games against senior opposition for Graeme Murty 's Colts team.

Young-Coombes scored at Ibrox in a match against Wrexham in the competition but is yet to make his first-team debut.

He signed from Chelsea in January 2019, penning a two-year deal but is set to move back across the border when it expires.
