Nathan Patterson is keeping his head down ahead of next week's Euro 2020 opener as he hopes for a first Scotland start.
The Rangers right-back made his senior international debut on Sunday as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 friendly victory over Luxembourg.
It's a moment the 19-year-old has been waiting for his entire life but could be immediately topped if Steve Clarke gives him the nod for next Monday's clash with the Czech Republic.
Patterson is up against the experienced Stephen O'Donnell for a place in the side but he's keeping his cool ahead of a monumental week.
"It was obviously great. I have been working to this moment for my whole career," the Ibrox star said. "I have got the chance and gone on and I thought I done well.
"It was a good challenge. I was playing against top players and playing with top players. You get better experience and it is just experience I am going to take onto my career.
"[The advice was] to keep being positive, keep going at them, don’t be shy and just get on the ball and make things happen.
"I thought I done that and the boys were excellent.
"I have done that all season. I have trained hard and just went on and showed what I can do and shown that, when you are young, you can still go on the pitch and show what you are capable of and I thought I done that.
"The squad is together, no one leaves anyone out, we are all a team. Every meal, everyone is sitting down together at different tables and chatting to each other and that shows on the pitch when you go on and give a great team performance.
"It is just wait and see what happens [before the first game]. Work hard and hopefully you can get a chance.
"If the chance comes, you go on and take it. I just want to get my head down and work hard in training and hopefully I can get an opportunity."
