Nathan Patterson 'bid' considered by Rangers as Everton make transfer approach

Rangers kid Nathan Patterson is reportedly the subject of a £5million bid from Everton.

The 19-year-old burst onto the scene at Ibrox last season and his impressive form earned him a spot in Steve Clarke's Euro 2020 squad.

The right-back has played second fiddle to James Tavernier so far this season, with his only appearance so far coming in the Premier Sports Cup rout of Dunfemline.

The Mirror now claim that Toffees boss Rafael Benitez is keen to add the talent to his squad to battle Seamus Coleman for minutes in the English Premier League.

It is stated that Everton "believe they may be able to get their man and are pushing hard in this window."

They note that Patterson, who has been capped twice for Scotland, is seen as "a young talent who could become the long term first choice."

Rangers are reportedly still considering the seven-figure offer as they weigh up Tavernier's role as first-choice this season.

Patterson has made 17 appearances for the Premiership champions last term and scored two goals, with the first of those coming just 16 seconds after coming off the bench in a Europa League clash with Royal Antwerp.
