Nathan Fillon plays the perfect Nathan Drake in fan-made Uncharted film

Not to let the video game movie curse consume everything in its path (commiserations to Assassin's Creed and Warcraft), fans have created their own version of a big screen Unchartedadaptation.

Columbia Pictures and Sony have both attempted to develop their own takes on the hit video game series, dating as far back as 2009, with directors David O. Russell, Joe Carnahan, and Shawn Levy having all been attached at various points.

During that time, Mark Wahlberg, Chris Pratt, and Tom Holland were all floated around as possible choices to play Nathan Drake, the series' charismatic treasure hunter, though Nathan Fillion has long-expressed his own interest in the role

Well, that wish was finally fulfilled, if only for a brief 15-minute glimpse of what could be. Speaking to Kotaku, Fillion explained that he'd met the short's director, Allan Unguar, through a mutual friend, with both expressing a great love for the series.

“We wanted to scratch an itch—we wanted to see something, and we didn’t want to wait,” he said. “Our goal has been achieved. If something comes from this, that’s just icing on the cake.”

The short also stars Stephen Lang as Sully, Geno Segers as Diego, and Mircea Monroe as Elena.
