Nathan Carter warns fans over fake social media accounts trying to con people out of money

Nathan Carter has urged fans to be alert to fake accounts pretending to be him and trying to con people out of money.

The country music star warned his fans that he had been made aware of a number of accounts impersonating him on a range of social media platforms.

Taking to his verified Instagram account on Friday, he posted: "PLEASE be aware of FAKE social media accounts pretending to be myself!! The only Facebook, Instagram & Twitter accounts I use have a Blue tick!!

"Unfortunately we Have been contacted recently by a number of people who have been contacted by these fake accounts looking for money or vouchers. If you are contacted by any of these accounts looking money or bank account details please report and block them straight away! To be clear I would never ask for money, vouchers or bank details!!! Stay Alert."

It's not the first time country music stars have been the centre of fake accounts, earlier this year Lisa McHugh was also forced to warn fans over a fake ticket competition.

The scammers targeted a number of people who received a fake message through Facebook telling them they were one of 10 lucky fans to have a private concert with Lisa McHugh on zoom as well as 2 VIP tickets for Lisa’s concert in October.

Lisa warned fans saying: “I just want you to send this message to as many people as you possibly can. I want to try and get this stopped asap. I don’t want anyone to fall for it and I want to prevent any more messages being sent as quickly as I possibly can.

“I just don’t understand why someone or some people would think that this is OK to do that because it’s just honestly not.

“But they will be stopped, they have been reported and as soon as I have any  more of an update I will let you know asap."
