Nathan Carter reveals what he's looking for in partner as he opens up on plans to ‘settle down’

Nathan Carter has revealed what he's looking for in a partner as he opened up on plans to ‘settle down’.

The country crooner said that any potential girlfriend would have to be into music, and joked that his big house in Fermanagh is "ready for kids and dogs".

He told RSVP Country: "They would have to be very understanding of the music business because in the past it’s been a bit of an issue with different business, especially when there are people at the front of the stage admiring you.

"It’s not easy on the other side of things. So they’d have to be very accepting of the whole business and me not being here all the time.

"Obviously I’ve been here the last 18 months, but I won’t be here that often – hopefully I’m going to be gigging and working and doing what I love."

While many opted for virtual dating during the pandemic, the singleton, 31, said he wasn’t a fan but said he hopes to find the one to settle down with eventually.

"No, I’m still single and I didn’t really get going out that often in lockdown. I think a lot of people either got engaged or completely hated each other at the end of it.

"It went one way or the other. But I’m still happy enough the way I am.

“Eventually, yeah, I will settle down.

"I'm my head I'm still 18."

Instead, the country star has been focusing on himself, and told how he learned a lot about himself during the pandemic.

"I’ve explored a lot more things about myself, because I’ve had the time.

“When you’re moving a million miles an hour you don’t have the time to stop and think about your emotions.

"I’ve explored a lot more things about myself, because I’ve had the time. When you’re moving a million miles an hour you don’t have the time to stop and think about your emotions.

"You just bury it and if there are any issues going on in your head you just bury it with work. “Whereas with time off, they’ve unravelled themselves and I ate too much, drank too much and one thing I have learned is I need to be physically active.

"If I’m not I get very down. I need to go out walking, I need to go to the gym, I need to do a bit of weights, or whatever it is."
