Nathan Carter reveals he's heartbroken over tragic Tyrone hotel stampede which left three teens dead

Nathan Carter has revealed he was devastated by the stampede at a hotel which left three teens dead because he played his first ever Irish gig there.

The country singer told how his "heart sank" when he heard about the tragedy at the Cookstown Greenvale Hotel in Co Tyrone.

He told The Irish Daily Star: "It was my first venue in Ireland. It was my first-ever show and my heart just absolutely sank when I heard about it."

The Liverpudlian, whose parents are from Newry in Co Down, said his heart went out to the tragic victims Morgan Barnard, 17, Laura Bullock, 17 and Connor Currie, 16, and their families.

"It's pretty scary to see. I'm so sympathetic to everyone involved. It was a big accident."

Yesterday, the country singer revealed while he still feels young, the clock is ticking to find romance.

He told the Irish Mirror: “I’ve nothing going on at the minute unfortunately.

“But I am open to offers. I still think I’m young, free and single in my head so I don’t know but I think at 28 I’m approaching that age where I need to do something soon.”

Due to his hectic itinerary, the Wagon Wheel hitmaker said he won’t be following his brother Jake’s footsteps on Dancing With The Stars anytime soon.

The Liverpool star added: “No, well I’d never say never but schedule-wise, we do about 120 gigs a year in Ireland, America, Germany.

“So to take three months off, it wouldn’t be affordable at the minute, I employ a lot of lads between band and crew and sound guys.”

However, after Jake left the competition with the title and a girlfriend last year he said he wouldn’t turn down finding love on the dancefloor if he ever found the time to give it a go.

Nathan said: “You never know. I mean working with someone that closely for that amount of time there is always an opportunity and a chance for that but it totally depends on the person too.”
