Nathan Carter has revealed he fancies Maura Higgins and admitted he doesn’t think she and Curtis Pritchard will last.
The Wagon Wheel singer explained how he had messaged the Irish Love Island star before she was in the villa – and would consider trying to sweep her off her feet.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror ahead of his performance at the Fleadh Cheoil in Drogheda, Co Louth, last night, he revealed he has his eye on the feisty grid girl on the show, and added: “I was rooting for Maura all the way.
“Well I’d been in contact with Maura before the show but yeah I think she’s stunning, she’s a really, really cool girl.”
Asked about having the hots for her, he joked: “Haha yeah. I wouldn’t say the fanny flutters but you know.” The 29-year-old also revealed he contacted her via Direct Message (DM) on Instagram and doesn’t think Maura will stay coupled up with dancer Curtis for too long.
He added: “I can’t imagine that lasting too long to be honest but who knows.” Asked if he’d like to sweep Maura off her feet if ishe was single again, he replied: “Maybe so yeah. Maybe so.”
The star was a keen viewer of the hit series aired on Virgin Media Two and when asked what he thought of reality TV, he said: “I think it’s a great platform.
“The likes of Maura Higgins there, who has done unbelievably good, she’s going to have a fantastic career ahead of her now so Love Island has been great for her.”
