Nate Diaz will fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 in New York on November 2.
It will be a quick return to action for Diaz, who defeated Anthony Pettis in his first fight in almost three years last month.
That was the California native's first bout since losing to Conor McGregor in 2016.
The fight, according to ESPN, will be over five rounds with the receiving a special Baddest Motherf***** belt.
Diaz called out Masvidal after his victory over Pettis.
He said: "Jorge Masvidal had a good last fight, a good last fight.
"All respect to the man, but there ain't no gangsters in the sport, there ain't nobody who does it right but me and him.
"I know my man's a gangster but he's no West Coast gangster."
